Vegan Florence

Organic, Vegan, Gluten-Free Are you a vegan? A vegetarian? Do you like healthy, organic food? Do you want to eat something other than Tuscan food? Florence has a healthy number of vegetarian and vegan restaurants. One that opened a few monthes ago at the back of the Duomo of Florence is Panino Vegano, or vegan sandwitch. The choice of vegan hamburgers is between soy and chickpeas, accompanied by vegan mayonaise, gluten-free bread, ketchup, red beet mayo, and a variety of organic roasted vegetables. Sandwiches are tasty and sauces good. It is a good eating, a bit pricey at 5,50 Euros per sandwitch, but definitely a good and healthy choice. Organic Wholesome Drinks A great alternative to sodas are vegetable and fruit extracts. Ginger, carrot, apple. You can make...

There is a lot out there that continues to interest and fascinate me, more than I will ever be able to blog about. Nevertheless, I wish to share it with readers of Experience Tuscany. This is the first attempt at something I would like to call a “Tuscany info roundup“. I tried collecting ten of the most interesting information that was twitted in the last month about anything and everything concerning Tuscany. It includes info on events, art exhibits, personal experiences, news, books and videos. Spend your Christmas in Tuscany among hundreds Traditional Markets A nice article...

A Corner of Morocco in Florence

Do you know what Shisha is? Is the water pipe that was invented in Turkey (some say in India using a coconut) and called Narghile. I am sure you have seen these tall, beautiful looking pipes puffing scented smoke on hexagonal tables full of delicious pastries and hot mint tea. This is the traditional way of enjoying a moment of relax in Morocco, and I just yesterday discovered that you can also enjoy it in the heart of Florence at Derb, at Via Faenza 21r. Derb is a Moroccan restaurant and cultural center where you can find books to read, artisan work to admire and buy, art exhibits, cultural events and a delicious restaurant serving French-Maghrebian recipes at lunch and dinner. The ambient is small and intimate, with modern furniture serving the purpose of making...

Tuscany Cruises including the Tuscan archipelago and Florence

A popular cruise destination on your cheap cruise is the Tuscany region of Italy. Tuscany has been long respected for its famous buildings, outstanding artwork, and a very rich history. One popular place to visit is the Duomo in Florence. The cathedral is a great example of Gothic architecture, which was built from 1296 to 1436. The first thing most visitor’s notice is the great dome, the largest masonry dome in the world. The lantern was finally placed on top of the 375 foot dome in 1469. This completed the building of the cathedral 173 years after it started. The dome is self-supporting and was built with staggered bricks, so that no scaffolding was used in its construction. It contains 463 steps and is seen as the start of the new Renaissance...
