The ruins of the medieval monastery in Tuscany of  “San Michele alla Verruca” are located in Vicopisano, in the Pisa province. Until few years ago of the whole structure the only visible portion was the absid and some wall traces. In 1996 archeological digs brought back to light the most fascinating aspects of this medieval monastery. It was founded during the 9th century as a small peasant church to become a monastery around the year 996. Chocolate Fair in Florence

[slideshow=3,300,195] Chocolate. Tons of it. In every form and shape, liquid and solid, dark and white, flavored and not. This was the chocolate fair in Florence that like every year was hosted in Florence from the 22nd to the 25th of January. Chocolate masters coming from all over Italy met in Florence. Forty of them all in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, and I was there stuffing my mouth with the dark biiter chocolate I love! To see the creations and workshops producing wonderful artisan chocolate was mesmerizing…truffles, bars, flavored, liquid, tarts, white, dark, with pistachio or strawberry, and lots more, all with chocolate, impossible not to crave it!
