For those looking for breathtaking views and a unique experience, here for you a horseback riding route that crosses the Etruscan Coast. Starting point: Località Le Serre (Poggio Pelato) Point of arrival: Steccaia Time: 5 to 6 hours Distance: 30 km Type of route: cart path and trail Note: most of the trail is in shaded areas. A land symbol of well-being that is commonly viewed as large and quiet green stretches of breathtaking beauty, that open wide towards the crystal clear sea on the coast. But beauty and relax in Tuscany are not just that! There is another aspect of the territory which once again confirms the excellent offer of this region: thanks to its many spas, Tuscany is a well-being leader with 39 thermal centers, all well known and popular from antiquity. Chickpeas Cacciucco

You certainly know the Cacciucco Livornese recipe made with fish…well this is a nice variation on the theme made with chickpeas. In addition to being a very good recipe and a nutricious one, it also is an excellent vegan alternative too. However, the origins of this are not vegan, but as it always goes in Tuscan cooking, they are to be found in the poorer tradition of this region, when one onion, few tomatoes, few tablespoons of oil, one anchovy and some beat leaves had to become the sustaining energy to work hard in the Tuscan country fields. And again, another praise to the ingenuity of the chefs of necessity that lived the past. Ingredients: - 300 grams of dry chickpeas - 200 grams of green beat leaves - 50 grams of extra virgin olive oil - one large...

Most Beautiful Tuscan Beaches

The Maremma in Tuscany is a land with long, varied shores and crystal clear waters. Wide sunny sand beaches, cliffs with trails to the sea, rocky beaches where the sea eroded the coast and left small, private gulf where to hide for the day in peace: this is the Tuscan coast of Maremma. These transparent waters are among the cleanest in Italy, with a matching quality coast that offers any kind of landscape to enjoy for all tastes. You will find a series of alternating coast kinds: few kilometers of sandy beaches, then sudden cliffs that form gulfs where another patch of sandy beach accommodates your rest. Other parts go for many kilometers as a sandy beach, meet the end of rivers, mingle with natural parks, offering wonderful scenarios framed by sand dunes with...

Fun with Children in Tuscany

»Posted

I would like to talk about a family topic. Families usually want to travel to Tuscany with their children, but never seem to get around it and get going because they consider Tuscany a place aimed to adults. On the contrary, although Tuscany offers a great variety of activities, including many cultural ones for adults, it also is a fun place for the wee ones as it’s a region bursting with festivals and celebrations with many points of interest for children. Most families that travel to Tuscany organize their holidays trying to reach the ideal balance between the immense cultural offer and fun entertainment for the little ones. Most rural houses, hotels and villas in Tuscany provide guests with a swimming pool. As it often happens the whole morning or part of the...
