New Year’s Eve in a Tuscan Square

»Posted

The appointment in a Tuscan square to celebrate the New Year’s Eve has become a recurring event in many towns and cities in Tuscany. A large bonfire, many people gathering to enjoy the fireworks, Christmas sweets and pastries and good wine with live music are the essential elements to make of these events a town party for a low cost evening spent as a social gathering. The main Tuscan cities offer concerts and larger events. In Florence you can enjoy various free concerts, starting with the classical music concert in Piazza della Signoria. In Piazza San Giovanni the Funk Off, the official band of Umbria Jazz will play their funky rhythms. In Piazza SS. Annunziata a gospel concert will be in tune with the Christmas season, while the silly rock of Elio e Le...

Just three days left before the old and tired 2010 dies to leave space for the 2011. Will it be a good year? Will your projects become reality? Will it be a special year to remember? One always wishes so, but wishing is not enough. You need to act on things to make them happen the way you want them to be. That is why to start the new year with a bang my suggestion to you is to spend the first night in Tuscany. His perspective on Tuscany from the point of view of someone that has never been in the region makes for a very interesting article to read. Enjoy! As someone who has never visited Tuscany, but has admired from afar, there are a number of things I intrinsically link with the region and a number of things I would love to see and do. Should I ever be fortunate enough to find myself as a tourist in Tuscany here are my top three must do’s! The Leaning Tower of Pisa – Let’s get the most obvious one out of the way first. Without doubt, the leaning tower of Pisa is one of the most iconic landmarks on the planet. Renowned across the globe for its 4 degree slant (it used to lean...

Easily Ask Multiple Owners with One Email!

»Posted

Allow me a dash of self promotion, I think it is well deserved. After a lot of hard work to get it going, Thriftytuscany.com has finally implemented the multiple request tool! What is it? Until today if you wanted to request availability to a property you had to perform one request per owner, meaning a tedious form filling out for each property! We knew it was a flawed way of letting you get in touch with your preferred properties, that is why we started working on the multiple request tool almost from day one. With this new feature you can now browse the website, pick the properties you like and add them to your favorites list with one click. When you are satisfied with your choice, visit your favorites page and send the email. That is all! Easy. You can even...
