»Posted

“Imagine sipping some of the most delicious wines immersed in the Tuscan countryside while listening to some of the most inspiring music. It is not a dream, it is Melody of Wine“. Such are the opening words of the promotional video of this event. Lots of enthusiasm for the first edition of the “Melodia del Vino” wine and music festival. It is a ten days long event that from June 28 to July 8, 2011 will interest four important wine production territories in Tuscany: the provinces of Siena, Grosseto, Florence and Lucca. The project was imported from Bordeaux, the famous French wine region, by the same organizers of the French edition of the event. If you go to the company’s website you will see a big Coming Soon image right here announcing that from now on along the Uffizi, Bargello, Santa Maria del Fiore, or Florence’s Duomo, and many other monuments you can add the Cafe location to the list. Guess we have to be glad that Planet Hollywood and Fashion Cafe are out of business, or they would have also made that list! Apart from the fact that thousands and thousands of people have...

“High-Speed” Regional Trains in Tuscany

»Posted

Since December 2010 there has been a change in the way you can travel by train in Tuscany. The regional trains, the least expensive but also the slowest and least comfortable of all, were improved with a new service, the fast regional train, or Treno Regionale Veloce. The fast regional train has the same exact price of the usual regional train, but it offers faster connections between selected railroad hubs, such as Arezzo, Chiusi, Pisa, Pisa Airport and Florence. This way you will be able to connect to the main train stations to catch the high velocity trains and move faster within Italy. Moreover, the fast regional trains were given the first class option, about 50% more expensive than second class, but really comfortable and unlikely busy. If you are a commuter...
